The Swiss Dot is a family-operated boutique carrying fashion and accessories for women and teens. We recently interviewed owner Danielle Bryant to talk about the challenges of holiday gift-buying. Scroll to the bottom to get a peek at The Swiss Dot and its merchandise.
DMGLB: How long have you been in business in Seal Beach?
Danielle: Just about three years.
DMGLB: What are your holiday hours?
Danielle: Daily, 10am to 5pm. Closed Tuesdays.
DMGLB: What age group do your clothes appeal to?
Danielle: We cater to just about everyone! We can find a dress for a salsa dancer, winter formal or any holiday party.
DMGLB: How is the shopping experience different at an independent shop like The Swiss Dot versus a chain store in the mall?
Danielle: We will give you great customer service. We care that you look great in our clothes! We are friendly and fun and our prices are fair. We get in new clothes from LA weekly and if we don’t have what you need, let us know and we’ll try to find it for you.
DMGLB: Do you have any special holiday collections in the store right now?
Danielle: We have lots of metallics, gold and silver dresses, shoes and sweaters. This is also our first year carrying a 100 percent organic clothing line.
DMGLB: Do you have any advice for boyfriends or husbands shopping for holiday gifts for their loved ones?
Danielle: Our best advice is to ASK her what she wants and write it down, along with her sizes (even her bra size!) and keep it in your wallet. Then, come to The Swiss Dot and find it. If you can’t choose between two items, buy them both. Most importantly, add to that gift something you would like her to have as a surprise.
DMGLB: What are the hot items this season?
Danielle: Anything metallics, hats, especially plaid, scarves, big purses, vintage journals, vintage hangers, vintage clipboards, brooches on scarves and business card holders.
DMGLB: Do you have any other advice for Seal Beach holiday shoppers?
Danielle: Come and shop Main Street! Alamitos Antiques has fabulous vintage jewelry; Knock Knock Toy Store gives you a knock knock joke with every purchase; Fairy Tea Cottage sells tea cups sets and holds parties for little girls who want to be princesses. Old Vintage Cottage has a must-see Christmas window! And you can find that swimsuit for your holiday cruise at Resort to Swimwear.
