Pat Hale of Seaside Brokers recently spent a few minutes with us to talk about the current state of the real estate market in Seal Beach, California. If you’d like to talk personally with Pat, call her at 562-773-3919 or stop by her office on Main Street and pick up a free map.
DMGLB: How long have you specialized in Southern California real estate?
Pat: I have been selling Real Estate in Southern California since 1979. I moved to Seal Beach in 1997 and have been selling coastal properties ever since. I just opened my own office “Seaside Brokers” at 311 Main Street, Suite 16, in Seal Beach last year.
DMGLB: We’ve all heard the news about the real estate market, but how would you characterize the current real estate climate in Seal Beach?
Pat: I have noticed a slowing of the market in Seal Beach but have only seen one foreclosure in town, which is not at all like the news is stating. I do have list of foreclosures in other cities–if any one would like one, stop by the office to pick one up or I can email it.
DMGLB: What advice do you have for Seal Beach homebuyers?
Pat: I will give any buyer a FREE list of properties in the area. If you want to buy a home to live in, it is a buyers market and the interest rates are still low. There are a lot of properties to choose from, which is unusual in this town. I don’t really understand why people would rather rent. Homebuyers would have been better off buying a few years ago, but property will always go up in value. If you want to buy to turn and sell to make a large profit, you won’t right now.
DMGLB: What advice do you have for Seal Beach home sellers?
Pat: If you don’t have to sell, don’t. It is a buyer’s market.
DMGLB: Does Seal Beach have many residential properties available for rent?
Pat: There are rentals in Seal Beach, but they go pretty fast. If you are looking to rent and you see something you like, rent it quick, because it won’t be there long. You can also come by my office for a FREE rental list.
DMGLB: What specialized knowledge can you bring to the real estate process that benefits the buyers and sellers of Seal Beach real estate?
Pat: I have experienced markets like the one we are in right now and I can help buyers and sellers through it.
DMGLB: Can you offer any insight on the Seal Beach culture and lifestyle for visitors and others who are new to the community?
Pat: Seal Beach is a small town lost in time. Everything is within walking distance–banks, shopping, post office, movies, etc.– and it very safe to walk. Most people in town are very friendly and courteous. Personally, I love to walk on the Pier. We are also very close to all major freeways to navigate anywhere in California.
